A seafarer may need medical care, but sometimes it is difficult to get to a doctor. There can be problems with arranging medical care, logistically or financially. If medical care cannot be arranged through the ship manager or ships agent, do not hesitate to contact Mr. Willem den Hoed. He has been a port doctor for over 40 years and is in contact with other doctors. If urgent medical care is required, also if it is specialized medical care, you can contact him at wimhoed@kpnmail.nl. This applies mainly for seafarers in the Port of Rotterdam, but feel free to get in touch in case there is need for medical care in another Dutch port.
